Formed in the quarries darkwave of Italy, Christine Play Viola is a band that was born the 2008 in Pratola Peligna, a small city to the east of Italy.

Created initially as a trio, conformed by the friends FABRIZIO GIAMPIETRO(Guitar, synth, programming), CRISTIAN QUARANTELLI (Vocals) and DANIELE PALOMBIZIO (Drums, synth), who composed and recorded their tracks from a computer, but after a few months, the band is complete with the recruitment of a longtime friend of the three boys: DESIO PRESUTTI (Bass guitar).

Initially they offered a very melancholic proposal, ending up participating in several festivals and compilations. In March of the 2008 they self-produced their first material in format of EP “It’ll be cold this winter”, the one which this loaded with dark and emotional elements dark / new wave, what came later, was live activities with the intent to promote the EP and several presentations in competitions of great prestige, obtaining very good results and trying to make inroads in the vast underground scene .

In the 2009, after the recording of an unexpected setback, Cristian decides to retire of the band in good terms, due to personal problems, but CPV doesn’t stop, they continue composing music and looking for a new vocalist. At the little time MASSIMO CIAMPANI who came from a band of melancholic metal in Rome, unites to CPV, contributing musical new influences to the band.

Then in January of the 2010, they release the demo “Useless To See Beyond”, of which a song is extracted to be included in the movie of Loreto Valente titled “The Nine Crosses”, this year they win the ‘Orquestra 6 Alternative Contest’, by far the best contest of the national independent music. To this victory it continued the participation of the band in the November 2010 edition of M.E.I. at Faenza.

On July 24 the Christine tread the ‘Psycho stage’ in the prestigious contest “Italy Wave Love Festival” with a dark and intense performance which arouses great interest among the public and professionals.

Motivated by so good acceptance by the public and the specialized press, CPV begins the composition of new songs, always motivated by the sounds dark and atmospheric. Giving  as a result the release in the early days of the new year of “Promo 2010″, conformed by 3 tracks that they would be their letter of presentation for the world, having as a result in February 2011, to sign an agreement with the german record label AFMUSIC for the release of first full-length called “Innocent Awareness” coming out  13th of May in digital release and the 10th of june in the CD release. But before in March, Loreto Valente realize the first music video of the band, of the track “Witch of Silence”, being included in the German famous compilation “Gothic Visions III.”

“Innocent Awareness” had been received positively by the public and with very good comments on the part of the specialized press. The band is currently composing new material for an upcoming EP and continues the live activity.
